Our take
I would choose Sol y Mar for a practical, pet-friendly family stay when Playa Zancudo, a short taxi ride away, is the goal. The restaurant, free WiFi and free parking cover everyday needs. Because the beach is not on the doorstep, anyone who wants to step straight onto the sand should look at beachfront options. An 8.6 rating across 172 reviews is a steady, reassuring result for a three-star hotel.
- ✓Take advantage of the free breakfast to fuel up before your day's adventures
- ✓Utilize the free parking if you're traveling with your own vehicle
- ✓Don't forget to bring your pet along, as the hotel is pet-friendly

Why guests love itSol y Mar is a three-star, family-friendly hotel a short taxi ride from Playa Zancudo, so it is a base near the beach rather than on it. It has a restaurant, free WiFi and free parking, and pets are welcome. That makes it practical for families traveling by car with a dog. Guests rate it 8.6 out of 10 across 172 reviews. The listing does not mention a pool, so I would not count on one.
