Fleur De Lys Hotel
About this stay
The building came first and everything else was fitted around it: a Victorian mansion from the coffee-boom decades, with high ceilings, deep window reveals and timber that the Central Valley climate has weathered rather than destroyed. Two minutes on foot reaches the National Museum of Costa Rica in its old barracks, and another two the Museo, which makes this one of the shortest museum walks in Montelimar. The restaurant and bar occupy the ground floor, breakfast is included and free, and EL Desvan is three minutes away for an evening out. Parking and free Wi-Fi are listed, pets are welcome, and the whole property is smoke-free. An airport shuttle covers the thirty-three minute transfer. Rooms are informal rather than luxurious, in keeping with the house.
